Using different coloured lines to represent links such as marriage, offspring or clones, I drew three charts showing the connections between popular Marvel Comics characters across three of their most well-known teams. Each character was depicted as an iconographic version of themselves, using only the shape of their head and key colours where appropriate. I drew them because I like comics and I thought it would be fun.
People liked them a lot. In 2014 the X-Men Family Tree was printed in Manuel Lima’s The Book of Trees, published by Princeton Architectural Press, and in 2015 it was featured in an exhibition at the Rockefeller University Library in New York.
